Syria & Jordan
September 2010
We started in Damascus during the last six or seven days of Ramadan. In Syria we travelled by public transport, trains and private taxis. While in Damascus we did a day trip to Maaloula. From Damascus we took the train to Hama from where we took several day trips. We then spent a couple of days in Latakia and from there to Aleppo. Ater spending another two days in Palmyra we crossed to Jordan via Damascus by Taxi. In Amman we hired a car and drove to Madaba spending a few days. We spent some time at the Dead Sea and then drove on King's Highway to Wadi Musa, the nearest town to Petra. After visiting Petra and Little Petra, we drove to Wadi Rum and spent two days and one night in a Beduin desert camp. We then drove to the Red Sea to Aqaba. Back in Madaba, we drove to Jerash and eventually to Amman. We dropped of the hired car and crossed back to Damascus by Taxi and after a couple of days we flew back home.
